Mădălina is a Senior Researcher with over 15 years of expertise in migration research and policy development. She has a strong background in project management and extensive knowledge in a variety of migration-related areas. She conducted research and contributed to articles and reports on migrant integration, care work mobility, anti-trafficking policies, migration and security, as well as fundamental rights in return. Over the past ten years Mădălina has also been extensively involved in project design and project management, especially on EU-funded projects such as FP7 and Horizons.
Prior to joining ICMPD she has been active in the civil society landscape in Romania, engaging in projects supporting the reform in education and Romania’s European integration. Since working at ICMPD she served as a training facilitator and was a keynote speaker in various settings. Currently she is coordinating the Research Unit’s contribution in three Horizon projects: HEROES, FAiR and INNOVATE. Her research interests range from topics such as migrant rights and the role of technologies in tackling extreme exploitation to knowledge transfer in policy-driven migration research.
Mădălina holds a BA in Political Science and an MA in Gender Studies. She is fluent in Romanian, English and German and has basic knowledge of French.
