IMISCOE Research Network

ICMPD is currently a member of the IMISCOE ("International Migration, Integration and Social Cohesion in Europe") Research Network, previously the Network of Excellence on IMISCOE, of which ICMPD was also a member.  This network, involving 28 research institutes in Europe and some 300 researchers from these and other institutes, aims to integrate research on migration and integration on a European level and to disseminate research findings to the wider public, policy makers and NGOs.

The team participates in the research groups: Standing Committee on International Migration and its Regulation, MIGCITPOL (Migration, Citizenship and Political Participation) and Employment and Migrant Legality in Contemporary Europe. ICMPD has also participated in the events of the "Research-Policy Dialogues on Migration and Integration in Europe" research group. Additionally, Albert Kraler is a member of the IMISCOE Editorial Committee and the IMISCOE Maria Ionnais Baganha Dissertation Award Committee. In the past, ICMPD was also involved in the former research clusters of B5 "Social integration and mobility, education, housing and health", B6 "Linguistic, cultural and religious diversity and related policies" and C9 "The multilevel governance of immigrant and immigration policies.

In addition to regularly contributing to the various cross-cluster activities of the network. R&D also draws on the possibilities to publish research results in the IMISCOE-AUP book series (Amsterdam University Press), as well as contributing to working papers and state of the art reports.

Funded by:
2004-2010 European Commission, 6th Framework Programme; 2010- membership contributions by participating institutions.
