Katharina holds an MA in Cultural and Social Anthropology from the University of Vienna, which included half a year of study abroad at the University of Chicago. Since joining ICMPD in 2015, Katharina has been involved in multiple research projects in the areas of integration, migration and development, and forced migration. She has supported the research and policy work of ICMPD´s Turkiye and Silk Routes teams, the Budapest Process, ICMPD´s Vienna Migration Conference and Member States Programme. She has conducted research and written reports, amongst others, on the topics health needs of elderly migrants (BEMIG), diaspora engagement (ITHACA, ECONDIAS), migration and development (SIDEM), education & labour market integration of unaccompanied minor refugees (PERSPEKT), youth work and integration (YRMA), migrants in crisis situations (MICIC) and migration information campaigns (PARIM).
