Daria Huss

Daria has more than 15 years of professional experience with ICMPD, with special interest in migration governance, labour migration, integration and social cohesion. She has been part of ICMPD´s research unit since 2023, carrying out qualitative research and co-authoring research studies and other publications. Before that, she worked for ICMPD´s policy unit, where she drafted reports, policy briefs and commentaries, developed concepts for workshops, webinars and study visits and coordinated project activities, including planning, procurement and quality control. In both positions she collaborated with teams of external experts and contributed to internal knowledge-sharing formats.

Previous to joining the Directory for Policy, Research and Strategy, Daria contributed to the secretariat of the Dialogue on Mediterranean Transit Migration (MTM) in different positions. In the Mediterranean City-to-City Migration project she supported the set-up of a city network comprising of 9 cities in Europe and the Southern Mediterranean with a focus on integration, social cohesion and local migration governance. She also contributed to the MTM i-Map project by developing the layer on Migration and Development and preparing content for MTM conferences. Daria started her career at ICMPD as a project assistant on various initiatives. Prior to ICMPD, she served as content manager on country-of-origin information at the Austrian Red Cross.

Daria is fluent in German, English and French. She holds Master´s degrees in Migration Management and in Social and Cultural Anthropology.
