Ayesha joined ICMPD in 2021. She has 10 years of experience in migration research, including developing and implementing quantitative and qualitative research projects, and conducting policy analyses in the field of migration. Her research interests include migration decision-making, climate-related migration, and diaspora engagement. Her research encompasses a broad geographic range, covering South Asia, the Western Balkans, the European Union, and sub-Saharan Africa.

Prior to joining ICMPD, Ayesha has worked with the Oxford Department of International Development (ODID), the Federal Ministry of Human Rights, Pakistan, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI), Islamabad, and the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), in research and policy consultancy roles.

She holds a Masters in Migration Studies from the University of Oxford, and a master’s in economics from the National University of Science and Technology, Pakistan. She is fluent in English, Urdu and Punjabi.
