Education: Lucas holds an MA in Conflict, Security & Development from the Department of War Studies, King’s College London. He also received a BA in European Studies from Maastricht University, which included half a year of study abroad at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Relevant experience and expertise: Currently, Lucas is involved in research components of the ongoing project on Migrants In Countries In Crisis, where he focuses on European responses. He is also involved in two projects on return migration and the communication of migration-related information at schools. Previously, Lucas worked for the German Orient Institute, where he conducted research on the EU’s role in its southern neighbourhood, presenting his work as part of the EU’s revision process of the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP). Lucas was further part of the editorial team for the journal ‘Orient’.
