Relevant experience and expertise:
Christina Hollomey has been working as a researcher at ICMPD since 2005 and has participated in various EU- and nationally funded research projects and studies on topics related to integration and non-discrimination, irregular migration and fundamental rights (access to healthcare in particular) and family migration. She has specialized in qualitative empirical research methods and co-coordinated case studies on topics such as multiple discrimination in access to health, and healthcare access of undocumented migrants. Having worked in an interdisciplinary team, she is also familiar with comparative policy analysis and statistics. Christina was also a member of the former IMISCOE Network of Excellence. She has taught social and cultural anthropology at the University of Vienna and the Middle East Technical University of Ankara. Furthermore, she cultivates her interest in gender and migration by engaging in voluntary activities, such as assisting a Viennese migrant women’s NGO (Peregrina) and by taking part in further trainings on gender, diversity, and discrimination.
Research interests: Integration, religion, multiculturalism, and irregular migration.
